The Dead Zone
Not quite finished with this older Stephen King book (released in 1979) but I had to post something. I am almost done, and it has been a fantastic read! While it is definitely a somber read, and one of King’s more sad reads. It is one of the reminders of why he is one of the greatest living writer’s of the last fifty years. If you are at a bookstore, pick it up in paperback, or even in...

Being a huge Kevin Smith fan, I pay a bit of attention to what he is up to. Despite the fact that some of his comic work has been pretty sad, I dug Zach and Miri Make a Porno, but was bored by Cop Out. I have heard him talk about Red State since 2008, and after checking out the teaser, I have more and more faith that he will deliver a top-notch horror flick. Especially with an original spin.

The Umbrella Academy (Once Again...This Time with...
Free Comic Book Day 1997. I’m a sucker for free comics. Not all of the free books the companies release that day. I am pretty selective, and in all honesty I have only kept one book from the countless Free Comic Book Days I’ve attended. The Umbrella Academy. I honestly picked it up because I thought the cover was really cool, which is nerdy of me. I knew Gerard Way was the singer...

To Veronica: That is awesome, Morrison/Quietly are my favorite team as well, that’s why I have all 12 issues they did of All-Star Superman. One of the best reads possible. Also check out (if you haven’t already) JLA: Earth 2, their first collaboration Flex Mentallo is hard to find, and I have never read it. I tried to download a readable version of it a few years ago and am pretty sure...

Comics!
It took me a little bit to track it down, but this is the first comic I remember buying at an unremembered comic store in Colorado. I remember because it was the first time my mom let me go with my brother’s to the comic book store. We walked there from our house, and I remember picking this up because it had Superman on the cover, looking cool. Honestly until I looked it up just now, I...
